POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Operations-Madison is responsible for supporting Doyenne programming and collaborations in the Madison market to build entrepreneur ecosystems that invest in the power and potential of women entrepreneurs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Recruit, train, manage volunteers & interns necessary for maintaining Doyenne programming and community presence
  • Oversee and coordinate Doyenne programming held in Madison
  • Manage Doyenne membership in Madison
  • Cultivate local partners and donors
  • Administrative duties for maintaining Doyenne Madison chapter
  • Other roles and responsibilities may arise while in the position

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • HS (or equivalent) Degree
  • Experience working within a startup and/or with entrepreneurs
  • Prior work experience handling event planning

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Background in social media and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly detail-oriented and great multi-tasking abilities
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Google Drive, and Dropbox a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is generally performed in an office environment and routinely requires employees to do the following while carrying out the essential functions of the job:

  • Use standard office equipment (computer, phone, printer/photocopies, etc.)
  • Travel to event and meeting locations based throughout Madison

The Director of Events & Operations – Madison supports, maintains and strengthens Doyenne operations, programming, and collaborations in the Madison market to build entrepreneur ecosystems that invest in the power and potential of women entrepreneurs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The majority of the essential duties and responsibilities for this position will focus on supporting Doyenne’s mission as described below:

Develop: Expand entrepreneurial skills. Oversee and coordinate Doyenne programming held in Madison by planning event logistics, creating promotional material, managing registration and coordinating volunteers.

Connect: Build and mobilize networks. Manage Doyenne membership and volunteers (including volunteer coaches) in Madison, including but not limited to identifying, recruiting, onboarding, offboarding of members and volunteers.

Fund: Raise and invest dollars. Identify and cultivate local partners and donors contributing under $10,000 to support Madison events and identify, and refer to Headquarters, potential large donors ($10,000 and above) to support Doyenne Group.

Collaborate: Partner to change the ecosystem. Build partnerships with organizations in the local ecosystem to sustain Doyenne programming and community presence.

Other duties and responsibilities to support the Doyenne operation include:

  • General office management and other administrative duties to support and maintain the Madison chapter and/or office
  • Financial responsibilities to include managing of expenses within budget, timely submittal of invoices to Headquarters and creating reports and content to maintain metrics on local dashboard/scorecard
  • Social media responsibilities include creating and maintaining content for website and other social media platforms

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • High school (or equivalent) degree
  • Experience working within a startup and/or with entrepreneurs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Prior event planning and office administration work experience
  • Background in social media and best practices
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Google Drive and Dropbox is a plus
  • Highly detail-oriented and great multi-tasking abilities
  • Basic understanding of accounting and budget
