Remember the days of chance encounters that led you to new opportunities?  Books have been written about the success rates of those that "Never Eat Alone." This virtual climate certainly doesn't allow for personable elbow-rubbing, leave alone face 2 face meal sharing. So, we've created a space to casually connect with other solopreneurs, micro, and small business owners about where you're at, what you need - and what's fueling you today. CONNECT: RELATING THROUGH OUR COMMUNITY LENS

Odoo CMS - a big picture

how one woman's film production company leverages partnerships to empower youth and communities to tell their own stories through the lens.

Many are aware of Milwaukee's rampant socio-economic segregation, leaving youth within these communities without direction, and other communities, sometimes separated by 'blocks,' the lack of awareness of each other's realities.

"Growing up Milwaukee"  is just one of Tyshun Wardlaw's (founder of Wardlaw Productions) films - because behind every statistic is a story. The documentary chronicles the stories of three inner-city youth growing up in Milwaukee who struggles with the daily dilemma of growing up Black and avoiding becoming just another statistic. The film recently premiered at the American Black Film Festival's Online Edition and highlights the healing power of sharing our unique life lens.

 Attendees will:

  • Watch the "Growing Up Milwaukee" trailer

  • Listen and connect with Wardlaw's raw, unvarnished story behind her life and her path toward becoming an entrepreneur for community good

  • Participate in Q&A
